The .NET Framework development platform introduces many new concepts, technologies, and terms. The goal of this chapter is to give an overview of the .NET Framework: to show how it is architected, to introduce some of the new technologies, and to define many of the new terms.
I’ll also take you through the process of building your source code into an application or a set of redistributable components (types), and then explain how these components execute.
